DESCRIPTION:SalemRecycles’ Repair Café is back — at a new location\, the Community Life Center at 401 Bridge St.! The Café is a gathering of skilled volunteers who will repair and restore your broken items\, keeping them from the waste and recycling streams. Salem residents only\, please\, at this free event. \n* Event is 9:00 – noon\, with last appointment at 11:30.\n* Appointments are required; sorry\, no walk-ins.\n* Email mguglielmi@salem.com for an appointment.\n* Masks must be worn at all times during this event. \nREPAIRS MAY INCLUDE: Sewing by hand or machine (mend\, patch\, darn\, buttons — sorry\, no hems or alterations). Sharpen scissors & knives. Tinker with and rewire electronics and lamps; no TVs. Vacuum repair\, computer diagnostics\, ceramics gluing\, & basic jewelry repair. Furniture and wood gluing and repair. Nearly anything that can be fixed with adhesives or fasteners\, such as basic shoe repair. **This list may change as we confirm our volunteers ** \nBRING WITH YOU: Replacement item such as new zipper or electric cord/plug. If your electronics requires testing after repair\, bring what is needed to do that (e.g. light bulb\, DVD). \nVOLUNTEER WITH US! DESCRIPTION:Salem residents & property owners (with ID or tax bill) can recycle e-waste on the last Saturday of the quarter at Salem High School \nPlease stay in your vehicle the whole time and have your items ready to unload in your trunk\, truck bed or hatchback – items will not be unloaded from car seats. Please wear a face covering and have your cash or check ready. \nRECYCLE ANYTHING WITH A PLUG \n* $20 for each TV or monitor\n* $20 for each Freon appliance (fridge\, AC\, freezer\, dehumidifier)\n* $20 for exercise equipment (treadmills\, bikes\, ellipticals etc.)\n(Cash or check payable to vendor – RMG Enterprise)\n* All other electronics FREE: computer tower\, laptop\, tablet\, cell phone\, small appliances\, household electronics\, printer\, fax\, VCR\, CD player\, etc. \nPlease NO commercial drop offs or white goods (including washers\, dryers\, stoves).  Call Waste Management at 800-972-4545 to schedule a free white good curbside pick-up. \nNOTE: E-items containing mercury\, along with CFL bulbs\, can be brought to Salem DPS\, 5 Jefferson Ave.\, during City business hours.
