Residents of Salem and Beverly may participate. \nThere will also be pre-event drop-off available at the Beverly Public Library on Friday\, January 9\, 9am-5pm. \nPlease bring only rigid\, white\, expanded polystyrene (Styrofoam)\, the kind that crumbles into little pellets. No squishy foam\, packaging peanuts\, or food service containers\, such as meat trays\, clamshells\, or Styrofoam cups can be accepted. DESCRIPTION:Don’t throw away your broken item – bring it to the Repair Café!  Zero Waste Salem will be hosting a Repair Café on Saturday\, November 7 from 9am-12 noon at the Community Life Center at 401 Bridge Street.  Appointments are required and walk-ins will not be accepted. Pre-registration is required via link (stay tuned for updates) or email zerowastesalemma@gmail.com. \nRepair volunteers at this event will be available to mend clothing\, sew buttons\, and tinker with or rewire electronics and lamps. Please keep in mind these services may change as we confirm volunteers. We hope to see you at this fun event where you can learn how to fix things and reduce your waste! \nTERRACYCLE — We’re collecting FIVE TerraCycle brigades of otherwise hard-to-recycle items. Please keep each TerraCycle stream separate.\n** Swiffers: All used\, dried Swiffer pads.\n** Razors: All brands of reusable and disposable razors\, blades & cartridges\, as well as any flexible or rigid plastic packaging they come in.\n** Dental Care: Non-electric toothbrushes\, toothpaste tubes\, & floss containers. All brands\, plus toothbrush packaging.\n**Brita: Brita dispenser\, Brita pitchers\, Brita bottles\, Brita standard filters\, Brita Stream filters\, Brita bottle filters\, Brita filter packaging\, Brita Longlast® filters\, Brita Stream® pitchers.\n**Burt’s Bees – Burt’s Bees lip balm\, tinted lip care\, and lip treatment packaging; Burt’s Bees tubes\, caps\, wands\, bottles\, and pumps; outer packaging for Burt’s Bees towelettes and sheet mask; Burt’s Bees plastic compacts.\n\nIMPORTANT CHANGE: No deodorant or mouthwash bottles accepted as of January 1\, 2025. Please place mouthwash bottles with cap on into curbside recycling carts.
